Two women, who in logical or rational sense, could no longer conceive but nevertheless yearned for the joy of having a child. How many times and how many of us are like these two women? Our lives are a barren land despite our yearning and our efforts to bring forth life or fruits. We have tried perhaps even every means, we have longed and we have waited and we have prayed yet despite all these nothing happened. It was humanly impossible. No flowers bloomed, no fruit came, no life, no joy. All was desert land - parched and dry. Then the God of compassion saw it all and understood the cry and agony of the human heart and moved by our unrelenting and sincere yearning and pleading came to our rescue and He promised us life and joy if only we would believe. But as in the case of these two women, He reminded us and continues to remind us that the God-given gifts comes with a condition. That is, we are to realise and always to remember that the given life and joy hold within their seeds a mission and we are to dedicate our gifts to God and allow Him to use them for His own glory and the good of all mankind.

Dear Lord, in our waiting may we always remember that our God is a God of compassion and mercy and as such never lose heart.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That children may be protected and defended against every form of violence by means of the care taken by their families and of adequate social policies, all over the world.
