The coming of Jesus into our world is the fulfilment of years of preparation by our loving God and years of longing and waiting by His people. Down through the years God has spoken to us through the prophets but now He has spoken to us through His own Son who has become flesh and blood among us. How beautiful indeed on the mountains are the feet of those who bring these good tidings, who proclaim peace, who herald in a new era. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Yet there are still among us many people who do not welcome Jesus into their lives. There are still many dark spots in our world. There are still many people who have not yet heard this good news. We ourselves have been blessed with the gift of faith. Yet each Christmas is a new invitation to open our hearts again to receive Christ more fully into our lives and into our homes. Perhaps we are being called to share this good news with those around us - those who for some reason are living in darkness at this time. Maybe we can be the ones this Christmas to bring a message of comfort and of hope to those who need it now.

Lord help us to share this great gift that we have received by opening our hearts to those most in need this Christmas.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
