Index of This Month

In the beginning God spoke the Word.
Through the ages the prophets spoke the Word.
Then the Son was sent to speak the Word.
Who is this Son Who was sent to speak the Word?
This Son is the appointed heir of all things.
This Son is the radiance of God's glory.
This Son is the exact representation of God's being.
This Son is the instrument through which the world was made.
This Son is the Wisdom, the Word, through which all things are sustained.
This Son is the Sacrifice through which we are purified.
This Son now sits at the right hand of God, actively ruling with God as Lord over all.

'This Son' as presented by the writer of the letter to the Hebrews saw Jesus Christ as the revealer and the mediator of God's grace.

The first four verses in the reading in Hebrews presents Jesus Christ as God's full and final revelation.

Today, during this first month of the new year let us know deeply in our minds and hearts

Who Jesus Christ is.

By knowing Who He is we will be empowered to live this new year peacefully, confidently, and joyfully.

We will know that come what may Jesus Christ is absolutely supreme and sufficient for all our needs.

Lord, I pray that through my words and actions Your Word may continue to be heard and felt in the world.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
