Today is the feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). St Ignatius in his young days led a rather loose life and even committed serious crime. Through God's grace, he found God or, rather, God found him and turned his life round completely. He then was instrumental in turning other people around and bringing them to God. He gathered companions around him to share in that mission. Today's Kingdom parable reminds us that the final judgement of our lives only comes at the very end. In the meantime the opportunity to turn our lives around is always there. And, where we find people who are leading lives without God and without Christ and the spirit of Christ, rather than condemning them, let us pray for them that they may one day come to experience the gift of God's love to which we, in His deep mystery, have been exposed.

Help us, Lord, at all times and in every experience work for Your greater glory.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That governments and those responsible for the economy and finance of the world, may make an effort to guarantee all peoples the necessary means to live in a dignified way.
