Does God hide from us? The Psalmist felt so. Psalm 26:7-9 provides the Entrance Antiphon for today's Eucharist. We hear the plea: "Do not hide from me". If God hides from us, how do we set about finding him? We do not find God by running hither and thither. We must return to our own heart, for God dwells in us, St. John tells us. If we love, God dwells in us. If we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in us. We will, then, find God in a civilization of love, in a world enlightened by faith.

If we return frequently to our own heart through prayer, we will find there many longings and desires. We will hear God's voice prompting us: "My heart has prompted me to seek your face". Let us yield to our heart's promptings and continue to seek God's face. Perhaps God hides from us. Perhaps, we have not sought Him where He is to be sought. Perhaps we have not assiduously sought as we ought to seek: in love, in faith, and in hope. May our search for God bring us to deeper faith and bring about a civilization of love.

Bless the Lord, O my soul. May all my being, all my heart, forever bless God's holy name.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
