When the court official approaches Jesus and asks for his son to be healed, Jesus challenges the man's real faith. So many people at the time - and not infrequently in our own times - were looking for wonders and miracles. The man shows his real concern by ignoring Jesus' remark and also his total trust in Jesus' power: "Please, come down before my boy dies!" Jesus tests the man's faith: "Go home, your son will live." The man accepted Jesus' word and when he got home the next day, discovered that his son had recovered at the very moment Jesus had made his promise. The result was that not only the official but his whole household came to believe in Jesus. And, in this context, to believe in Jesus is to become His disciple and follower and to accept totally the way of life He proposes. It is to accept totally the words of Jesus: "I have come that they may have life, life in abundance." How strong is my belief that Jesus really cares for me and is a real source of life and strength?

May we, O Lord, continue to grow in Your life and continue to experience Your help in every situation.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
