As Jesus approaches the city he laments its tragic end. Much of what he said happened exactly as he described it. He implies that, if the city had received him as Lord and King, it might not have met the fate that was in store for it. "If only you had known the path to peace this day; but you have completely lost it from view." Of course, the path to peace was to follow the Way of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. It is not for us to pass judgement on the people of Jerusalem; we might have said and done just the same things they did. Rather, let us see in Jesus' words, a timely warning for ourselves. Are our lives on the road to peace, that internal peace that only Jesus can give, that no outside disturbance can take away from us?

Lord, fill me with your peace and keep me always close to You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the Christians of the West, may constantly increase their knowledge and appreciation of the spirituality and liturgical traditions of the Oriental Churches.
