It is so easy for us to feel very important when we are linked to an authority. Today the disciples get very officious with the good intention of protecting their Master from people they see as a nuisance and of no importance. Jesus, however, scolds them and tells them to allow the children approach Him and be prayed over. Then He makes the point that it is children of all ages who are most likely to enter the Kingdom of God. The good qualities of children are a total openness and a willingness to learn and that is precisely what we need if we are to become Kingdom people. Kingdom people are those who identify totally with the vision of life which Jesus has given us. To accept that vision fully we need the openness and the integrity of the child and to get rid of all the baggage of preconceived ideas and prejudices that distort our vision.

Lord, that we may see with the simple eyes of the child.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
