"I am the Lord your God, I who grasp your right hand; fear not I will help you." Yes, God is the loving redeemer of His people. His deliverance of His people from exile in Babylon reveals the strength and tenderness of His love for them and for us. Because God is with us, we need not fear, our difficulties can be overcome and our future assured. Hence, people who are afraid, who give up hope and lose all courage and faith the moment any trouble comes should open up their hearts and accept the consoling and wonderful words of God, our loving Father.

Jesus in today's Gospel commends John the Baptist. John's function was to herald the coming of the Kingdom of God in the person and work of Jesus. We Christians who bear the name of Christ are also called to prepare the way for Jesus, our loving Redeemer as John the Baptist did. Like John we too must decrease that God may increase. Therein lies our true greatness in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Loving Redeemer, we trust in You. You are the One who works wonders in our lives as we wait for the coming in glory of Your Son Jesus. Amen.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
