This is the second of two accounts in Mark of the feeding of a large number of people by Jesus. It is generally believed that the first feeding of 5,000 was for Jewish people while the second feeding of 4,000 was for Gentiles. Both stories tell us of God's overwhelming love for His people. The story not only tells us that hungry people were fed but that there was so much food left over. We can never exhaust God's love for us. There is always far more than we could ever need. Perhaps today we could reflect, first of all, on the many ways we have experienced God's love in our lives and continue to experience it every day. Secondly, we can ask how we can be instrumental in bringing God's love into the lives of those around us. That is how God's love is mostly experienced - by the way people take care of each other.

May You continue to feed me, Lord, with Your love and may I pass that love on to all those who need it most.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
