God made all of us, male and female, in His image. Since God has both male and female attributes, there cannot be any inequality between men and women. Both enjoy God's gifts equally. We cannot tolerate injustice or domination by anyone. But there is more: since all people are created in God's image, we can never hate or mistreat another human being without doing the same to the God who created us. Seeking the imprint of God in everyone we meet is a transforming experience.

Sometimes we have difficulty in believing those whom we know well. We know their little quirks and weaknesses, and it is so easy to dismiss the exceptional things that they are capable of doing. We have the greatest difficulty believing in ourselves and the marvelous things of which we are capable. Jesus himself was prevented from performing many miracles because of the lack of faith of those in his hometown. Returning to the image of God in which we were created, we can dare to believe that God empowers us to do so much, if only we have faith. Let us believe in the godlike qualities in ourselves and those whom we know. We will find ourselves amazed at the power of God working in us.

Lord, help me to see Your image in myself and others.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
