"God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost but may have eternal life."

This great truth that motivated God's plan of salvation reveals the promise God made to us when we were baptized. Though Jesus is God's Son in a unique sense, by our baptism, we share in this sonship. We are indeed the chosen ones. However, this demands trust and belief on our part. St John is not speaking of momentary belief but of permanent and receptive attitudes to God's invitation. Our response will lead us into a life bearing Christ's light wherever we are, thus giving glory to God.

This is seen in the life of the apostles who were released from the prison by the angel and their daring courage to spread the truth so as to bring the Good News to the people. Do we have the same courage to be truly Easter people, bringing peace and hope to those who need them most?

Lord, grant us the courage needed to speak the truth and be witnesses of Christ wherever we may be.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christians may live their Sundays more truly as days of the Lord dedicated in a special way to God and their neighbour.
