The call that His mother and His brothers "were standing outside" gives the opportunity for an answer from Jesus. A new generation or family will arise around Jesus. Who are 'my mother and my brothers?" These words are directed to the multitude Jesus faces. And Matthew points out specially to "whoever does the will of the Father in Heaven."

To be an authentic disciple of Christ demands a personal relationship with Him and the keeping of the will of God. This will be the mission of the Apostles and the mission of every Christian. We, Christians, are brothers and sisters of Jesus whenever we keep the will of the Father.

Lord, help us to live and keep the will of the Father to be truly brothers and sisters of Jesus.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christians be sensitive to the needs of everyone, without ever hiding the radical requirements of the Gospel message.
