Yahweh is the originator and he cares for his creation. This is the basis of Israel's faith in God. Amos reminds the people of Israel how they were snatched to safety in the nick of time. This was God's moment for Israel. Now it has become urgent that they return to their God again for He is about to manifest Himself in the coming events.

In the terrifying situation of the storm the disciples were not able to comprehend that this indeed was a manifestation of God's presence! They asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey Him!" (Mt.8:27). They were "men of little faith".

The realization of our fraility, incapacity in the face of sudden and violent catastrophes is often the moment when Godls power manifests itself. "It is when I am weak that I am strong," (2 Cor. 12:10) writes Paul.

We need to be reminded of our human frailty, our innate weakness, that it is God who is in charge all the time and not we! We are not the originator.

Lord, I believe. Lead me in the path of righteousness.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That all those who are in prison, and especially young people, may receive the necessary support from society to help them rediscover meaning in their lives.
