It is easy for us to think that by doing 'religious' things and always talking to God, our future life is assured. But today we are warned by Jesus that it is not just those who keep saying 'Lord, Lord!' who will belong to the Kingdom of God but only those who do His will in all things. And what is that will? Is it not to work with Jesus to make the Reign of God a reality in this world - as a preparation for the next? Is it not to reach out to every person in unconditional love and work for their well-being? At the Judgement it is not those who kept saying 'Lord, Lord!' who are numbered among the 'good sheep' but those who took care of brothers and sisters in need. That is the way to build a house on a solid foundation. Words, no matter how pious, are just that - words. Nevertheless all this can be done only with the help and guidance of the Lord. As Isaiah tells us today, "Trust in Yahweh for ever, for Yahweh is the everlasting Rock."

By this will all know that you are my followers, that you have love for one another.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That human society may be solicitous in the care of all those stricken with AIDS, especially children and women, and that the Church may make them feel the Lord's love.
