It is arguable that what happened that day in that inconspicuous house in Nazareth was the most significant event in the history of our world. When Mary, with great faith, said her unconditional 'Yes' to the angel (who represented God), the new life began its existence deep inside her. Nine months later, the Child will be born in Bethlehem.

Thirty years later, he will begin his mission of initiating the Reign of God in our world, ending his life with the highest testimony of love that can be shown - giving his life in terrible suffering for each one of us. But that will be the beginning of a new way of living for the whole world. No one can measure the impact that Jesus has had on our world but things have never been the same since, even for those who do not believe or those who have not heard the actual message. But we owe so much to Mary for giving her unconditional Yes, a Yes which she never withdrew, a Yes that brought her to the foot of the Cross but also to unspeakable happiness with her Risen Son.

My soul magnifies the Lord, for He has done great things for me.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the word of God may be ever more listened to, contemplated, loved and lived.
