We come today to the end of our Easter readings. The Acts of the Apostles has reached its climax. The Good News which was first proclaimed in the synagogue in the small and insignificant town of Nazareth at the beginning of Jesus' public life is now being proclaimed in the very capital of the Empire, Rome itself. Who would have thought in those early days that the message would reach so far? Who would believe that here 2,000 years later would be the heart of the Christian faith touching the lives of more than one billion people today and indirectly touching the lives of even more people? But it is no time to be triumphalistic. There are still those who hate the message of Jesus and viciously attack his followers. But we will continue to proclaim in word and action our conviction that Jesus is the Way, that in Him there is Truth and Life.

The Lord says: the Spirit will take my words and will hand them on to you.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That allowing himself to be enlightened and guided by the Holy Spirit, every Christian may answer enthusiastically and faithfully to the universal call to sanctity.
