As we begin the Holy Week, we are invited by Prophet Isaiah to envisage the situation in which the reign of God prevails. It is where true justice is established - light within darkness - for the eyes of the blind are opened and prisoners set free.

It is Jesus who took upon himself the task of redemption and brought us to the state of light and freedom. This was what Mary experienced that moved her to anoint the feet of Jesus as in the Gospel reading. It was a symbol of her love for what He has done in her life. It is also an expression of her deep and sincere love for Jesus.

How do we respond to such acts of love by Mary? Do we have the same attitude as Judas Iscariot? How do we respond to His love for us?

One beautiful way would be the time we set aside to spend time with Jesus in prayer. During this Holy Week, let us take concrete steps to see this being lived out in our lives. This reflects our relationship with the Lord.

"Lord, draw us closer to you and let Your coming into our hearts this week move us to compassion and love to the needy ones around us."

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the Lord may bless the farmers' work with an abundant harvest and sensitize the richer populations to the drama of hunger in the world.
