What is fidelity? Fidelity is a virtue of character by which we keep our word in the face of danger and personal loss. Pentecost Sunday is a powerful example of Jesus' fidelity. He had said, "I will not leave you desolate ¡K, because I live, you will live also." Today is the day of Jesus' promise when He said that He will neither leave the disciples desolate nor abandon them. Through His Passion, Death, Resurrection and Ascension, Jesus remained faithful. He told His followers of His constant love and guidance. Today is one of great joy, for the Spirit has been poured into our hearts. We can believe and trust the words of Jesus - they are forever!

On the first Pentecost Sunday, the Spirit came upon the disciples. The fear that once gripped their hearts is now placed by God's liberating love. They must go public and witness that "Jesus is Lord." On this Pentecost we must ask some very profound questions of ourselves - How do we witness that Jesus is Lord? Are we bold in our proclamation and even bolder in working for justice, peace and forgiveness among individuals and communities? In a world which so desperately needs the Spirit, let us be about the work of Pentecost.

Come Holy Spirit, empower me with Your love and help me to work with You to bring God's Kingdom into reality. Amen.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the laity and the Christian Communities may be responsible promoters of priestly and religious vocations.
