"Every one of us can repeat after St. Paul that "every single time I want to do good it is something evil that comes to hand." We are indeed redeemed by Christ; however our human nature is wounded by original sin. We experience that every time when we struggle against temptations and vices. Nevertheless we cannot lose heart but we should exclaim with the Apostle of the nations - "Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!" It is God, our Father who in Christ gives us the grace of liberation from sin.

When Jesus calls us today to judge for ourselves what is right, it is exactly to show us how we can receive the grace of being free from sin. The first step is that we should acknowledge the truth of our human condition that we are sinners who cannot help ourselves. Sin and temptation are real.

The second step tells us that we are not alone in our struggle against sin and temptation. God is always close to us with His saving grace. We must bring to Him our sinful human nature in order to be healed. This healing happens most of all through the sacrament of reconciliation.

The third step of being liberated from sin is to persevere in prayer and acts of self-denial. Prayer and penance protect us from falling again into sin.

At the beginning of another day of our life, let us offer ourselves to the Lord.

"Save me, Lord, for I am Yours since I seek Your precepts."

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Sundays may be lived as the day on which Christians gather to celebrate the Risen Lord, participating in the Eucharist.
