Jesus' reputation as a healer made him so popular that the people brought the sick to Him wherever He went. Like the cure of the woman with a haemorrhage (Mk.5:25-29), they wanted to touch even the fringe of His garment and this act brought about healing. The physical contact with Jesus was a manifestation of their faith in His power. Jesus saw the inner disposition and faith of the ones who sought His healing touch and He granted them their requests. Many examples can be seen in 5:34,36; 9: 23-24, 10: 52.

This sense of hope is reflected in today's Genesis account where we see how God is intimately involved in the CREATION of the world. In the OT, the Hebrew word for 'create' is used only of divine, never of human activity. This creation is awesome when we sense how the creative power of God continues even today because all that is good comes from God. This is how God shares His power through Jesus and each one of us in our present realities. However this is only possible for those who are close to God and are chosen to be His instruments. These continue to participate in the creation of God. Do we believe in this today? Do we want to be part of this continuing creation of God?

"Lord, grant us this grace to be able to do Your will on earth and participate in the process of creation in the world today."

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
