Each of us has been called to be a follower of Christ, His disciple. Each of us has a role to play in the grand plan of God, calling us to be lights and to be shining for those in darkness. We must first and foremost be enlightened, to know God's ways and to be following in His ways, before we can be guides to others. We must be in-tune to the frequency of God, to be able to hear Him and be familiar with His ways and values.

As guides, we must shine brightly for all to see, not to be cowed by fear or doubts, but to speak out for the values of the Gospel. There will be people who are opposed to listening to the Good News, lest they convert, change their ways and return to God. They will try to dim or even extinguish this light of justice and righteousness. We must remain firm and strong in faith in the face of intimidation and challenges. We must always stand up for truth.

God can use any person, even the King of Persia, to carry out his will. May we always respond positively to the invitation of God, using our gifts and talents effectively.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
