Those who walk in God's ways are truly blessed. Echoing the words of Isaiah, they can feel clothed in beautiful finery and the garments of salvation even when life is difficult. The words are similar to those of Mary in the Magnificat: 'my whole being shall exult in my God'. True joy is something we cannot imitate or buy - it comes from God to those whose hearts are truly open and eager to do God's will. Having an open and loving heart is the medicine that can cure loneliness, discouragement, disappointment, grief, and even anger.

Mary must have been frantic with fear when she could not find Jesus. Her fear turned to irritation when she found him teaching in the temple. But Jesus reminded Mary and Joseph that he had a higher purpose on earth and now the time had come to set his heart and mind on the mission the Father had given him. Mary did not understand immediately but held it in her heart - time revealed its fullest meaning to her. We too sometimes sense that it is time to let go of many things and to move on, especially when we feel the spirit of God tugging at our heart. Each one of us in our own way must be focused on the things of our Father.

Lord, keep me faithful to Your spiritual path.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That believers may recognize in the Eucharist the living presence of the Risen One who accompanies them in daily life.
