Our usual notion of a labourer is that of someone who works to earn his living. After his hard work, he expects the reward which he deserves. There is, however another kind of labourer, someone who realizes that he has received something which he never earned or worked for. Because of this realization, filled with great joy and gratitude, he cannot help but love and serve the one who has been gracious to him. This is the kind of labourer that today's Gospel speaks about. He is someone who realized that the Master of the harvest has already given him his reward in full: Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life. Hence, he cannot help but love and serve the Master with his all.

In response to the Gospel, we may pray today to the Master of the harvest for the grace of awareness to realize we have already received within us the greatest Gift there is - Jesus, who is Immanuel, the God within us, so that we may love and serve Him with our all, and respond to the invitation of His love.

Lord Jesus, grant us the grace to love and serve You in all things

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That in this Year of Faith Christians may deepen their knowledge of the mystery of Christ and witness joyfully to the gift of faith in him.
