A teacher of the Law asks Jesus two very important questions: "What shall I do to receive eternal life?" and "Who is my neighbour?" We may ask this kind of question in daily life without finding a clear answer. During prayer, listen to Jesus attentively and seek a concrete response to his teaching.

"What is written in the Scripture?" In order to know how to receive eternal life, we should know what is in Scripture, the best manual for life. If you need to know what you should do in life, to make it happier and more alive, just open a Bible and look for an answer.

A teacher of the Law knew what to do to receive eternal life, he knew the Scripture, but he did not understand what it meant. He did not know who his neighbour was. Maybe there are a lot of things you do not understand as well. Maybe the Bible's answers to your questions are not clear at all. If this is the case, just do what the teacher of the Law did. Ask Jesus and carefully listen to his answer. Maybe Jesus will tell you a story, which will help you to understand or he will give you a straight answer. Ask him and be surprised!

Lord, teach us to listen and understand.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
