Who is in charge of our bodies - God or sin? Paul is very clear: it is with our bodies that we either live a graced life or one that resists God. His simple but clear advice is never to let our passions get the upper hand. After all, since we are under the law of grace we have the power of Christ's spirit working in us so we do not have to fight the battle alone.

Often people slide into sin when they get bored, discouraged, or disillusioned. In the parable, the one placed in charge by the master uses the delay in the master's return to lead a dissolute life and abuse others. As in the story, we have no idea when we will see the master - Jesus - face to face. It could be many years from now, but it could also be this very day. Lives can end suddenly and without warning. If we have wasted the time and not grown in the spirit, then we have wasted our life. Living a life of grace means that we are grateful for the gift of each day and the opportunities it brings to love and to serve. We do not waste time or opportunities, but live in the preciousness of each moment. We find out what sort of person we are spiritually by how we use God's gift of life each day. Perhaps we can ask ourselves how we would live this day if we knew that it was the day in which we would meet Jesus.

Lord, help me to use well the opportunities each day brings.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That those feeling so crushed by life that they wish to end it may sense the nearness of God's love.
