We usually think of redemption or salvation only in human terms. Paul tells us that we are part of creation and all creation was groaning with labor pains longing for redemption. The life, death, and resurrection of Christ also saved and renewed all of creation, not just people. The earth, the heavens, all forms of life, even the universe, can share in the glory of God. This is a challenge to respect and care for our world and the environment. Caring for creation is a religious practice and an act of worship. Humans are just one part of the 'big picture' we need to expand our thinking a bit. Sometimes we might wonder if our efforts mean anything at all or make a difference. After all, the world is filled with injustice, hatred, and violence. One person's acts of decency and kindness seem like a drop of water in the ocean. But Jesus uses two examples of very small beginnings: mustard seeds and yeast. The first is tiny and grows into something big; the second is small and transforms the entire lump of dough. Our kindness and words of hope and comfort continue to have a positive effect long after we are gone. Only in heaven will we be able to see and appreciate how much we have done. Don't be discouraged by the world's suffering - each day sow seeds of love, light, and kindness. These become foundation stones in the kingdom of God.

Lord, may my day be filled with acts of kindness.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That those feeling so crushed by life that they wish to end it may sense the nearness of God's love.
