When the unexpected happens in our lives, when sorrow or misfortune befalls us, when unexpected blessings or undeserved benefits are accorded to us, we can accept the situation and look to God. With Saint Paul we can come to believe that all things work for good for those who love God. God will bring good out of any misfortune that befalls us, if we trust, and allow God time to work. It takes some time and distance to write straightly with crooked lines.

Today we honor Mary. Her birth was part of God's plan from the moment of creation. She was chosen to be given the opportunity to be the mother of God's Word made flesh. She was chosen from all time to give birth to the light of the world, to humanity's saviour and redeemer. From her conception she was preserved free from the taint of sin. Many unexpected things happened in Mary's life as we recall in the various mysteries of the rosary: joyful, sorrowful, luminous and glorious. But through it all Mary said: "yes." Mary trusted God. Mary allowed God to work in and through her. Each one of us was created for a purpose. Each one of us has a role to play in God's plan. Like Mary may we say "yes" and allow God to work in and through us.

Lord, I trust in Your merciful love.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
