The feeding of the five thousand shows the remarkable generosity of God and his great kindness towards us. When God gives, he gives abundantly. He gives more than we need for ourselves that we may have something to share with others, especially those who lack what they need. God takes the little we have and multiplies it for the good of others. God satisfies the deepest longings of our hearts. The consequence of that is that we may not yet fully appreciate what life would be like without Him who gives us life. God fills us with gratitude and gives us a generous heart that we may freely share with others what he has given to us. Christian generosity comes only through prayer as Jesus did at the beginning of the multiplication. We say there's nothing there - Jesus says if you have the faith, you have everything.

Before we do an important activity, we will lift our minds and hearts in prayer, asking for the grace to transmit Christ's love in our activities. Our Lord Jesus Christ is not dead like others, but risen from the dead to give us hope. Let us pray to him with hope and joy.

Lord Jesus, teach us to be generous.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
