"Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters - one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." Peter's experience of the presence of the Lord was so captivating that he did not want to leave the mountain. In our daily life, sometimes we find ourselves overjoyed by people or events. At times, we may prefer to remain in those moments and forget to move forward with the rather normal flow of life. Today's Gospel invites us to lead a life of meditation on every event of our life and, instead of making prompt decisions, to ask the Lord what he wants for us. This is an invitation to go to the depth of the experience in order to be fed with the wisdom and the strength to face the harsh realities of life. In fact, when we indulge more in the joys of life without turning our eyes to God's word, we gradually lose the capacity to face difficult times. It is only when we tune our daily life with the Lord that we can always experience God's presence and, together with St Paul, proclaim with joy: "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? "

Grant us, Lord, the grace of meditation in our daily life.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
