Christian Family is a gift of God with a man, a woman and their children forming. Its meaning, purpose and mission come from being formed in the image of the Holy Trinity.

The mutual love between spouses faces the temptation of becoming self consuming by turning inwards. One love and three persons constitute the inner life of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the shared holiness and mutual love of the Father and the Son.

The spirit of “openness to a child” and the love between three equals in dynamic, interactive, serving and other-oriented interpersonal love is what forms a Christian family in the image of Trinity. The love of a male and a female committed in its openness to new life (other centred) generates a Christian family.

The broader Trinitarian mission of God towards creation (Deut 4:32) is reflected in the missionary vocation of the family in the world. This love spreads out towards others, when we are sent to share its fruit with them (Rom 8:14, 16). A family with a sense of mission (Mt 28:19) does not retreat into their small family, but eventually embraces the world in order to nurture it with God's love.

Triune God, strengthen our families by the power of Your love forming them in Your own image and likeness.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That, rejecting the culture of indifference, we may care for our neighbors who suffer, especially the sick and the poor.
