Not noticing or seeing something in us is a result of our habitual paying attention only to things outside of us. We are not introspective or reflective of our selves. Jesus points out to the disciples a kind of spiritual blindness - seeing flaws in things and finding faults in others but not knowing oneself interiorly. Without intimate self-knowledge we are not in a position to help our brothers and sisters to put things right. Jesus thus reprimands the disciples: Take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly enough to take out the splinter that is in your brother's eye.

It is not easy to remove things that we do not see. So what shall we do?

Perhaps we could learn to see perfection in all creation, because God's glory is manifested in everything He creates. If we find ourselves struggling to see goodness, probably we need to start to learn to love, and to love deeply. Nobody appears to us to be perfect until we fall in love with them.

Lord, give us the grace to see Your glory in our lives.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
