"First be reconciled with your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift." Anger has an immense destructive power. It harms both the one who carries the anger and the one who suffers it.

Anger poisons lives. To a large extent the one who bears the anger suffers a lot. There remains no inner joy, peace and tranquillity in life and life become a hell.

Today's gospel reading teaches us to refrain from anger. Jesus is an embodiment of love: where there is love, there is no place for hatred. It is our anger against the other person that gives rise to hatred. Hatred completely against the New Commandment of love. Jesus gives the highest importance to love. He gives priority to reconciliation over worship.

It's not easy to do away with anger and become reconciled. But it is possible by relying on the grace of God. Jesus is our source of reconciliation. He refused to go the way of anger. Instead, he took the anger of his enemies onto himself, and died under its load. Through his passion on the cross, he reconciled us with God, the Father.

Lord, help us to do away with our anger and be reconciled with one another.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
