In the Gospel today Jesus is inviting each one of us to be a part of his family. Being part of a family implies sharing a profound relationship with others. The criterion for being part of Jesus' family is to do the will of his Father. Jesus, being the obedient Son, always did the will of his Father. He asks the same from each one of us: to do the will of his Father. Then the question arises: what is the will of God for me individually and personally? The answer to this question is hidden in Jesus' questions: "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" That is to say, to do the will of the Father is to treat others as our own brothers and sisters. The moment that we treat another person as our own brother or sister with love and compassion we make Jesus' family present. The inseparable, indivisible and mutual bond of love between the family members keeps a family together. Jesus shared this bond with his Father. We can also extend this family relationship to others by doing small deeds of love and mercy in our daily life.

Lord Jesus, help us to treat others as our own family members as you treated each one of us.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
