We live in a world where the beauty in the plurality of religious expressions is slowly devolving into the dictatorship of religious pluralism. Many people prefer picking and choosing what they like instead of confirming themselves in freedom to what is really true, beautiful and good. The different religions do not necessarily lead people to the same goal. Christianity does not promise going up to an otherworldly heaven like many religions do but promises that heaven will descend on those who share in the mystery of Christ's life, death and resurrection. This implies choice and commitment to certain foundations of Christian life.

After presenting the foundations in his "sermon on the plain" , Luke provides two images - one of two persons and the other of two buildings. Commitment to the foundations of truth (Jn 17:17), goodness (Lk 18:19) and active faith in Christ (Mt 16:18) empowers us to face life's challenges. This reminds us that we should not be idle, but should actively build our Christian faith on solid foundations. Many of our contemporaries have become indifferent to Christ and disinterested in religion because of the uncritical acceptance of the ideology of religious pluralism.

Jesus, help us to be committed to the gift of faith given to us through the Church.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That each may contribute to the common good and to the building of a society that places the human person at the centre.
