We cannot separate our faith, our hope and our love from the activities of daily life, for Scripture and the Church teach that these three virtues unite us most closely with God. In his preaching Jesus several times alerts us to the necessity of integrating the faith we profess with the life we lead, so that we really are people who do the will of our Father in Heaven thus becoming true disciples of Jesus, united with him in being the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

A French Catholic writer once expressed the opinion that there is only one major problem with this world: there are not enough saints! Needless to say, he was not speaking of the Church's canonized saints. In his own words he was echoing Jesus' call to all of us to be people who are truly pleasing to God because our spiritual life, our daily life of faith hope and love, is not a mere recital of words: "Lord, Lord" but a true living out the will of God, God's love for our very broken world.

Lord, through the revelation and consolation of the Gospel, strengthen the courage of our faith.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That the elderly, sustained by families and Christian communities, may apply their wisdom and experience to spreading the faith and forming the new generations.
