Plato had said a long time ago, 'an unexamined life is not worth living'. Our journey to God is fraught with trials and difficulties for we live in a world that is chaotic, to say the least! We need God's insight and perception to be aware that He is still in control.

Our glorious vocation, according to St Paul, is to realize the greatness of the Saviour God has given us in Christ Jesus, whose Lordship over all things and over all angelic powers makes us beneficiaries of an inheritance among God's holy ones. Thus Paul prays for his readers/hearers for the Spirit of Wisdom (the word he uses for Wisdom is 'Sophia') a Wisdom of deep insights into God. His desire is that we be led ever deeper and deeper into the knowledge of the eternal truths. Only then, can we stand up for Christ and acknowledge Him as Master of our life and death.

We never stop growing towards a fuller knowledge and revelation of God's plan for us and the hope His call holds for us. Our Christian life can thus be described as getting to know God better and better everyday even if we are living in an age of despair. God's grace can never fail us ... our faith and hope in Jesus Christ will be sustained by the Spirit alive in us, teaching us what we must say and do in time of any persecution.

Lord, may the Spirit of Wisdom lead us to be in tune with Your plan.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
