John claims that those born of God do not - and cannot - sin, because the seed of God is within them. Yet we all sin, some more than others, and even the greatest of saints have confessors. What does Scripture mean? Those that have been completely renewed and transformed by the Spirit of God will not sin, but none of us is there yet. It is a process; many conversions are required along the path. As we grow in the Spirit, our tendency to sin should diminish and grow fainter. We must be both patient and faithful.

After John the Baptist identified Jesus as the Lamb of God, two of his disciples followed Jesus to find out more. Jesus asked a pointed question, one that is addressed to us today: What are you looking for? That question is worthy of a long meditation. They asked where he was staying, and he replied, 'Come and see!' This invitation is also for us. Jesus dwells continually and perpetually with the Father, and he invites us to do the same - and he makes it possible. The only thing that we need to begin this journey is the heart of a seeker and the willingness to ask questions. The Lord will lead the way. What are you searching for? Come and see!

Lord, grant me a seeker's heart.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
