It has been said that the Gospels are the story of our lives as well as the story of Jesus' life: we can find ourselves among the crowds who heard Jesus preaching.

The crowds' reactions, in the Gospel, are an invitation to us to reflect on what our responses to Jesus words and actions could be. Do we look for signs from heaven in answer to our prayer?

Since love is the highest virtue and the heart of the new commandment, should our response to the words and actions of Jesus not always be, as in today's Opening Prayer: "Increase your gift of love in us?"

Lord Jesus, teach us to desire in all our prayers an increase of Your gift of love in our hearts.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
