Peter and John were arrested but released after being ordered not to teach about Jesus. When they shared this experience with their community, all the people prayed together for power and protection. They knew that many were being persecuted for following The Way of Jesus. Their prayer had an amazing result as the building shook, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. God gave them the boldness to continue sharing their faith in Jesus.

Nicodemus came to Jesus by night. He knew of Jesus and was curious, but he didn't want anyone to know of his visit - he was not ready to make a commitment. He began with some facts - he knew that Jesus must have come from God as He performed amazing signs. Jesus then offered Nicodemus a new way of Living. To be born from above would mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and his life would be turned around. Faith involves mystery, and we must put our trust in the Lord. This was too much for Nicodemus to accept. What would it mean for you to step out in faith?

Lord, help me to believe totally in You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
