Today's Gospel presents to us that the five loaves and two fishes, generously shared by the little boy, upon the blessing of Jesus, were able to feed the large hungry crowd who followed Jesus to the Sea of Galilee after witnessing Him performing signs and healing the sick. The simple gesture of sharing by this insignificant boy and Jesus' act of "taking the loaves, giving thanks and giving them out to all" foreshadows the Eucharist, the body and blood we share and partake of. This act of generously sharing our little and reaching out to others with love and kindness brings about the superabundance of God's blessings and graces beyond our imagination and comprehension.

Recognising God's presence in our midst requires a child-like attitude of trust and an openness to His grace. When we have contemplated long enough in prayers and daily reflection of the Word of God, we begin to learn to pay attention to the movements of the Spirit within, become attuned to God's ways, and see Him working actively and miraculously in the mundane of everyday life.

In today's first reading, the Pharisee Gamaliel advocated for patience and advised the Sanhedrin to release the Apostles. He then said if their endeavour is not from God, it will cease of its own accord.

Holy Spirit help us to make Jesus Christ known and loved.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
