The mystery of the Trinity is inexhaustible in its splendour of unity. Our human vocabulary is inadequate to
expound its entirety. Nonetheless, it is possible to be enlightened by dwelling into one of their indisputable shared attributes. Compassion is definitely one. Listen to the profound exclamation by Jesus of the Father, Him and the Spirit in divine common ownership. "All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from Me what He will make known to you." (v15) Hence, it is reasonable to say that the Trinity looks with the eyes of compassion towards humanity. The degree of compassion towards us by the Holy Trinity is never diminished by our addressing our woes to any Persona of the Trinity. All would equally disseminate compassion in the same degree and way of affirmation.
The Father, Son and Spirit are one; they act of one accord, seeking the same good. Not only that, nothing is lacking in the other because of their indwelling, collaboration and manner of communication to us, it tells us of a relationship that is uniquely bonded in every way. Figuratively, the Irish shamrock is a three-leafed clover, a symbol strongly used by St. Patrick to explain the concept of the Holy Trinity to the Irish, with each leaf representing a person of the Trinity. The mutuality of the Father, Son and Spirit God points to our closer bond.
Glory be to You God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, may we find unity in sharing the life of the Trinity.
