The nativity of Mary marks a turning point in salvation history-a quiet birth that sets the stage for the Incarnation. Though Scripture is reserved in detail about Mary's infancy, the theological implications are vast. Matthew 1 traces her lineage through generations steeped in divine promise, showing that her arrival wasn't random, but purposeful. Romans 8 assures us that those who are foreknown have a role in God's plan, and Mary stands as the epitome of that truth.

Her birth is the beginning of a divine choreography. She is born into a faithful family, prepared spiritually and morally to one day become the mother of Christ Jesus, the Messiah. The joy of her nativity isn't simply about her existence-it's about the hope she carries for the world. She unveils it to us through sorrow and joy.

In her, we witness the unfolding of Romans 8:28 "all things indeed work together for good"-for God had a plan that included a young girl from Nazareth who would say "yes." Through her, the Word would become flesh. Through her, Jesus, Emmanuel-God with us-would enter our human story. The feast of her birth calls us to contemplate our own place in God's plan. Are we attuned to His call? Do we, like Mary, trust in the goodness of divine design? Her nativity is not only history-it is invitation. To believe. To say "yes." To be vessels of grace.

Lord God, through Mary let me see and accomplish the purpose of my life.
