"We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry." (v32) If Jesus addressed Thes e words to us today, would we refute that our current generation is wiser? The media presents a general stereotype of Christians as archaic. Though this inconclusive label is not a verifiable absolute for the current generation, some faith communities fare better than the rest and some do experience a decline while some others have totally abandoned institutional religion altogether. Generations may come and go, but the need for God perdures.

In 1 Tim 3:15, "You will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth." Paul reminds Timothy and his household not to misplace faith in any circumstances. Though the world seemingly promotes ideologies in contrast to what the Church teaches, we must discern the true and perduring human values that exist in them. The digital battle is depicted between channels of social media advocating the practice of moral values or illusive pleasures. Whatever their motivation may be, at the very least, they yearn to make the world a better place. The Church places the most important commandment ofJesus, to love God and neighbour, in its rightful place. Hence, between placing disbelief and conviction of Jesus and the Church, Christ's love is the factor that befits the equation.

Lord Jesus, lead me to accept things in their rightful places.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day jul be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
For our relationship with all of creation.
Let us pray that, inspired by Saint Francis, we might experience our interdependence with all creatures who are loved by God and worthy of love and respect.
