"I passed on to you what I received which is of the greatest importance." (1 Cor. 15:3). Much as we like to think otherwise, the reality is we can only give what we have, what we ourselves have received and become part of our being. For this reason let us be careful what we take in and also what we give to one another for in that single act of giving and receiving we are going to witness the ripple effect of the pond when a single stone is thrown in.

The Gospel text shows us something very beautiful - the merciful and compassionate heart of God. The Pharisees looked at the woman through judgemental eyes of condemnation and all they could see was an ugly, despicable sinner. But Jesus saw her through the eyes of mercy and that made all the difference. And what about Mary?

Beautiful, that's how mercy saw me
Tho' I was broken and so lost
Mercy looked past all my faults
The justice of God saw what I had done
But mercy saw what I could be
    That's how mercy saw me
That's why she loved Him so much.

O God of love and compassion, we thank You for all that we have received. May we in turn become loving and compassionate like You.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
