The Gospel is a summary of the resurrection stories. It begins with Jesus' appearance first of all, not to Peter or one of the other Apostles, but to a woman, formerly a very sinful woman, from whom Jesus had 'cast out seven devils'. When she told Jesus' companions they refused to believe her. Then, as we saw in Wednesday's Gospel, He was seen by two disciples, who had given up hope and were escaping to safety. Again, He appears to the Eleven who are scolded for their lack of belief. Finally, they are given the commission to bring the Good News they have seen, heard and experienced to the whole world. We are all too aware of our sinfulness and many weaknesses, yet we have been given the privilege of knowing Christ and have had our lives enriched by Him. Let us set aside our reluctance to recognise His presence in our daily lives and be mindful of our mission to let others share our experience of the Good News.

Fill us, Lord, with the joy of Your Resurrection. May it be a comfort to us in difficult times.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That those who hold positions of responsibility in the Church may offer a shining example of a life which is always responsive to the guidance of the Spirit.
