'Come and see', was Jesus' answer when asked "Where do you live?" Instead of just telling those two disciples of John the Baptist, Jesus invited them to a personal experience of what it was like to be with Him. And those two men stayed with Him the rest of that day, and indeed became His followers and stayed with Him for the rest of their lives. Jesus wants us too to know Him personally. He calls us to be His companions. Christian companionship, fellowship, community-feeling is more than "feeling good", being together, doing things together. What bonds us together is each one's own personal relationship with Jesus, our own experience of Him, which we become conscious of especially in our private prayer. This personal prayer is related to and complementary to our public prayer in groups and liturgies. We need both kinds, and both in their different ways are channels for learning to know Jesus better, to hear and listen to His calling, and to His invitation to "come and see" for ourselves. Having seen for ourselves, we will then (like Andrew) want to share our great discovery with others ... a discovery we've been granted by Jesus' invitation.

"Speak, Lord, Your servant is listening: You have the message of eternal life".

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
That Christian communities may welcome ever more completely the Lord's invitation to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
