In the days after their liberation from Egypt and before the entry to the Promised Land Moses could move the people to praise the God who created the universe. This God was superior to all other gods for the way He cared for the nation He had chosen and worked wonders for its safety. Without any thought of a future life in God's presence, Moses had to be content with the promise of a land here on earth.

But in the Letter to the Romans Paul speaks freely of the Spirit inspiring us to pray to the Father as His children, the new inheritors of the Promised Land. Thus being members of the family of God we enjoy a relationship with God as community - meaning the Trinity. Futhermore, we are now heirs of God and are now destined for an eternal life to be shared with Christ in His glory with the Father. This indeed is Good News for all of us and this is fellowship.

So, in Matthew's Gospel we are commissioned with the Apostles to bring the Good News of Christ to every land. The fellowship of Christ is authorised by baptism in the one name of three divine persons. The commission to teach the world is immense but the sources of power are greater still.

Father, help us to behave as Your children, saved by Your Son and inspired by Your Spirit.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.
