We have never seen Jesus, let alone the Father. The scriptures remind us of how Jesus acted and of what He said. He is the image of God. Whoever has seen Him has seen the Father. Moreover, the way to the Father is through Him. He encourages us to perform the same works as He does, praying and caring for the marginalized of our society. Paul reminds us that Jesus died for our sins but He rose from the dead and appeared to the disciples. This should give us the same hope that it inspired in Paul. Indeed, the shock of Jesus' appearance to Paul is likened to an unexpected birth: "it was as though I was born when no one expected it".

In our everyday lives we have many opportunities to be like Jesus in our prayers and actions, by being kind and helping the suffering and the poor. By imitating Him we find our way to the Father. But we don't do it alone. Jesus is there to help us. "If you ask for anything in my name, I will do it".

Jesus tells us that He is the Way. By trying to be like Jesus we find the way to the Father.

Lord, help us along the way to the Father.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
