The Resurrection is the proof that God has not lost His grip on His creation. Being a Christian means living by faith in the resurrection of Jesus. It means trusting in God even if all seems bleak. Christian hope is not in a method, not in a procedure, but in a person - Jesus, who surrendered His life for us to become our Way, Truth and Life. It is through and in Jesus that we come to the Father, know the Father, see the Father!

The disciples are led to realise that Jesus is not just a guide to salvation. He is their source of life and truth. He has gone on in front for us to follow. He opens up a way. He does not tell us about the way. He becomes the Way for He takes us by the hand and leads us.

The early Christian church awaited the parousia - the second coming of Jesus as victor and King at the end times. But Jesus has not passed over a bridge that was subsequently blown up! In today's Gospel, Jesus speaks of His longing that we too be there where He is now. He is our Passover to the Father. He is the bridge over our troubled waters. I can trustingly step on to this bridge, while surrendering to His plans for my life.

Lord, I surrender myself into Your peace.

DAILY OFFERING
Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day; my thoughts, words, joys and sufferings. Grant that, vivified by the Holy Spirit and united to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, my life this day may be of service to You and to others. I also pray that all those preparing for marriage discover in Sacrament the source of Christ's grace for living a fithful and fruitful love. Amen.

PRAYING WITH THE CHURCH
INTENTION
